What the work includes
Water meters and drains in one visit
- Reading and reporting the apartment water meters.
- Checking the kitchen tap and drain.
- Clearing early drain blockages with a drain-clearing agent.
- Findings are recorded apartment by apartment in the report.
Why it's worth it
One visit, many things taken care of
Water meter readings, a slow-draining sink or a worn hand shower hose are small things, but each still requires a visit to the apartment. Handled separately, every one of them means a new schedule and arranging access to the apartment again.
On the apartment round these are taken care of in the same visit. Meter readings and findings are recorded in the report, and early drain blockages are cleared before they turn into water damage. Residents can order their own minor plumbing work for the same visit without having to arrange it separately.
Residents' extra work is explained on the residents' page. See also what to do when water damage occurs in a housing company.
How it is done
As part of the apartment round
Agree and inform
We agree the timing of the round with the board or the property manager. Residents are notified in advance.
Visit every apartment
We carry out the work in all the agreed apartments on the same round, so access to each apartment is needed only once.
Report
Findings are recorded for each apartment in an electronic report, showing the board what has been done and what is worth keeping an eye on.
Any other work needed can be done on the same round. See all services →

Frequently asked questions
How much do the services cost?
Water meter reading and reporting costs €10 per apartment, the kitchen tap and drain check €12.50 per kitchen, and clearing early blockages €9.50 per dose of drain-clearing agent. The prices include VAT.
Why read the water meters on the round?
The readings from every apartment are taken on the same round and collected in one report, which makes billing for water consumption easy and means the meters do not have to be read separately.
What does clearing early blockages mean?
If a kitchen or bathroom drain is draining slowly, we clear the developing blockage with a drain-clearing agent and record our findings. If the blockage is caused by a wider fault, it shows in the report and the board can order further action.
Can a resident order minor plumbing work?
Yes. Residents can order extra work for the round, such as minor plumbing jobs, replacing a bidet shower handle or hose and renewing silicone sealant. You may be able to claim the Finnish household tax credit (kotitalousvähennys) for the labour cost if the work is the shareholder's own maintenance responsibility and you order and pay for it yourself (not through the maintenance charge). In 2026 the credit is 40% of the labour cost including VAT, up to €2,100 per person per year, with a €150 deductible. Work that is the housing company's responsibility does not qualify. Orders must be placed at least a week before the apartment round.
